- Gordon Ramsay has brought in Phil Hall's PHA Media to handle his personal PR. Ramsay previously used Gary Farrow for more than five years before an acrimonious split in January.

- The Cabinet Office has appointed Andrew Stott as the Government's first director of digital engagement. Stott is currently deputy chief information officer in the Cabinet Office.

- Virgin Media has hired Bray Leino to handle its nationwide regional media relations account.

- Cake has won an account with Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons, following a competitive pitch.

- Camelot has selected eight regional PR agencies: 3x1 Public Relations, Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger, Paver Smith, Effective Communication, Townhouse Communications, Tribe, Blue Zebra and Robin Walsh.

- VisitBritain has named its former top comms professional Sandie Dawe as chief executive.

- Kerzner International, the hotel group, has appointed BGB as its UK travel PR agency, following BGB's involvement in the launch of Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai last year.

- Lotus has selected Scottish agency Aura PR to launch its new Evora sports car.
