The drugs company is holding the pitch for its schizophrenia and bipolar disorder drug this week. The account is currently held by Hill & Knowlton.
AstraZeneca confirmed the pitch was taking place but would not disclose further details.
Global sales of Seroquel were $4.5bn last year, making it AstraZeneca's second biggest selling drug.
At the same time, AstraZeneca has hired Reynolds-Mackenzie associate director Tina Batchelor to join its UK team. She has been brought on board as brand comms manager for Seroquel.
Batchelor joins after less than a year at healthcare media relations shop Reynolds-Mackenzie (PRWeek, 11 July 2009). She was hired from Virgo Health and has been working on clients including Roche and Pfizer Oncology.
Reynolds-Mackenzie is currently recruiting for a replacement. The agency has also bolstered its team with the appointment of Abigail Thompson as an account director.
