M&C Saatchi wins global education brief

The Global Campaign for Education (GCE) and Comic Relief have appointed M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment for a worldwide education campaign.

The agency has been tasked to deliver a worldwide PR campaign to give every child access to free primary level education.

M&C Saatchi was awarded the account following a two-way pitch.

There are currently 75 million children around the world who have no access to education and the campaign aims to put public pressure on governments to make education a basic human right.

The campaign will go public in June with launch events taking place on all continents across the globe. It will also capitalise on the opportunity to reach a global audience during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The PR agency will work alongside sister advertising firm M&C Saatchi as part of the campaign.

The agency will work closely with the Comic Relief network. It will also work with footballers and high profile supporters of the GCE and the Class of 2015 that include FIFA, Bono, Bob Geldof, Gordon Brown, Nelson Mandela, Angelina Jolie, and other ambassadors from the world of football, music and politics.
