Bizarre Danone, Gordon Ramsay, and Currie Bike Ride!

Journalists tell us of truly bizarre media relations procedures in place at Danone.

Ringing to speak to the yoghurt giant's comms director Trevor Datson, one is asked whether they have spoken to him before. Flack had not, so we were advised to 'write a letter or send a fax' to Datson. Not email? 'No, not even email,' said the receptionist, who seemed as surprised as us. But it gets worse! Asking to then speak to the press office, journalists are told to leave their details with the receptionist, who will pass them on to those hard-working press officers. 'Truly unbelievable behaviour in this day and age of 24/7 news,' one frustrated hack told us...

Yet more damaging revelations about Gordon Ramsay this week, not least the fact he serves ready meals in pricey gastro pubs. The bad news can be traced back to Ramsay's acrimonious split with PRO Gary Farrow in January. And Ramsay still has not replaced Farrow - could it be no PRO will go near this tough-talking chef?...
