The agency won the brief following the first PR mini-competition from the central Scottish Government team since the creation of the new roster in December (PRWeek, 08 December 2008).
A children's panel is a lay tribunal which makes decisions on the welfare of a child or young person, taking into account all the circumstances, including any offending behaviour. There are 32 panels in Scotland reflecting the individual local authority areas. Each panel comprises three lay members, who are volunteers selected from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Consolidated will be working alongside Newhaven and Mediacom to deliver a recruitment awareness campaign attracting volunteer panel members.
‘It's a sensitive issue, involving considerable stakeholder liaison that plays to our recruitment expertise,' said Consolidated PR director Will Holt. ‘The challenge though will be finding the right sort of volunteers. People who not only want to make a real difference to a child's life but also can make the not inconsiderable commitment.'
