- McLaren Automotive, Formula 1's road vehicle manufacturer, has poached BMW corporate comms manager Mark Harrison to head its PR function.

- Petrofac, the oil and gas giant, has handed a brief to GolinHarris' corporate team, replacing 15-year incumbent Fifth Ring.

- Donald MacLeod, editor of Education, will become head of comms for The Russell Group, which represents the UK's elite group of universities.

- Edelman has named Roger Pereira as global vice-chairman, reporting to president and CEO Richard Edelman. Mumbai-based Pereira will also become non-executive chairman in India.

- Clydesdale Bank and sister Yorkshire Bank have recruited Linda Bain, former senior V-P of global comms for Hilton Hotels Corporation, as UK head of media relations.

- The CIPR has appointed regulatory consultant Martin Horrox as part of a new drive to improve the way it manages complaints brought against members.
