PHA Media lands Blackpool beach brief

Phil Hall's agency has won a brief to position Blackpool as the best place for beach sports in the North of England.

PHA Media has been handed a six-month consumer brief by Visit Blackpool and Beach Volleyball UK. It will promote volleyball in the UK, position Blackpool as the best place for beach sports in the North of England, and also as a great holiday venue for British families.

The agency will use September's English Masters beach volleyball tournament as a hook. The tournament will bring Olympic athletes to the town for the competition, and to supporting events like Volley on the Prom, a competition for local schools.

The agency has also been asked to draw attention to the £80m redevelopment of Blackpool’s promenade.

The account was won following a three-way pitch. It is worth over £20,000 for six months.

Negotiations over the contract are still taking place.
