13 March I was unaware until today of wikileaks.org, a site that publishes anonymous submissions and leaks of sensitive governmental, corporate, or religious documents, while preserving the anonymity and un-traceability of its contributors. The site is a great reference site for journalists, but I can also see how it will be used by PR people wanting to place controlled leaks about their own business or products, and about the actions of competitors.

13 March Earlier this week, I pointed to a study on Facebook and its privacy effects. This situation demonstrates why one should keep opinions and bravado to oneself. A defendant used an arresting officer's thoughts to get acquitted. There is an issue of common sense and judgment here that sadly, many people lack. The officer might have done his job well but he destroyed his own reputation. When enough people injure themselves with their words, maybe we will learn. But I would not bet on it.
