Technology: Lexis snubs MySpace

Lexis PR is set to lose its account with social networking giant MySpace after declining to repitch for the business.

MySpace is expected to pitch its UK consumer and corporate PR account this week as its relationship with Lexis will finish at the end of March. The agency had been working with the site, owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, for the past 18 months.

Lexis CEO Margot Raggett said the agency had declined MySpace's invitation to repitch, but would not comment on the reason. She said: 'We feel it is right for them to start working with a new business.'

Alice Regester, director of communications for MySpace UK, was unavailable for comment.
