Two wins for Bell Pottinger

The Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) has turned to Bell Pottinger Public Affairs as it attempts to step up its lobbying.

The ALMR, which represents pub and bar operators, has handed the agency a ret­ained contract. ALMR chief executive Nick Bish said the body wanted to make sure ‘positive messages’ about the industry were getting through to the Government.

At the same time, Bell Pottinger has been appointed to advise an ‘action group’ of dep­ositors who have been hit by the demise of the bank Kaupthing, Singer & Friedlander in the Isle of Man. The agency also recently won a major ­account with Nat­ional Exp­ress (PRWeek, 13 March).
