- What is it good for?

The Thomas Cubitt is good for most things - weekends, weekdays, breakfasts, brunches, dinners or a cheeky pint after work. It is client, friends and family-friendly. It is beautifully decorated and one of the few places in the Victoria/Belgravia area to offer good quality food and wine at very affordable prices. The seasonal menu in the dining room offers exceptional value.

- Signature dishes

The Thomas Cubitt focuses on using only the highest quality British ingredients. The spring menu begins this week, offering such delights as Carlingford rock oysters on ice, Devon crab salad, basil marinated sea bass, Gressingham duck and Norfolk pork belly.

- Who's the boss?

Barry Hirst, Gabriel Bernardi and Stefan Turnbull own The Thomas Cubitt. The executive chef is Phillip Wilson, a Kiwi.

- Tips please?

Book ahead for evenings and lunchtimes on Thursdays and Fridays.

- What's the damage?

The spring menu costs £19.50 for two courses and £24 for three.
