Lloyds and Finsbury part ways

Lloyds Banking Group has put its financial comms account out to pitch after ending an eight-year relationship with Finsbury.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Finsbury was invited to re-pitch for the account, but declined to do so.

A senior source at one City agency told PRWeek that the decision was likely to have been influenced by new comms director Shane O'Riordain, who preferred to use HBOS's in-house function for the majority of comms work in his previous role.

This week the Government boosted its stake in Lloyds to up to 75 per cent in exchange for insuring £260bn worth of assets, taking effective control of the troubled bank.
