The MD is leaving to pursue other business interests - he will be joining a telecoms business in a brand development role, after spending the next four months developing a hotel in Trinidad.

In addition, executive chairman Christopher Broadbent is retiring from the group. He will be replaced by Steve Dunne, who was MD from 2002 to 2006 and has remained a non-executive director.

Dunne joins from digital strategy shop Digital Drums Ltd, where he will remain CEO. Fearnley explained that one of the areas on which Dunne will be focusing is building Brighter’s digital capabilities.

Group CEO Debbie Flynn continues to lead the company, who is planning to restructure Brighter Group. The restructure will see the group initially create three divisions – public relations, marketing communications and digital.
