The sports specialist was awarded the global account following a five-way pitch. Industry sources said the account was worth a six figure sum.
M&C Saatchi is the first agency to work on the brief since Castrol announced its partnership with the football tournament last summer.
‘We are trying to build a meaningful association between Castrol and football,' said Castrol global head of marketing communications Vijay Solanki.
The account will be headed up by M&C Saatchi MD Jamie Wynne-Morgan.
