City agencies feel the pinch

City agencies Pelham PR and Tulchan Communications have made significant job cuts as the economic downturn hits City PR in earnest.

Pelham has made five roles redundant, including three associate directors, as it restructures its seven business practices into three core teams - resources, corporate and retail and generalist.

Pelham founder James Henderson said the move was triggered in part by tough economic conditions, but also by a change in the strategic direction of the business.

Tulchan Communications is cutting a 'single figure' number from its 40 staff.

Both firms have been hit by a dearth of deal-related project briefs.
