From our readers: Shout loud about NHS successes

I can reassure Alex Hilton (Opinion, 27 February) that comms teams at all NHS hospitals are already well aware of the incredible things our clinical colleagues achieve every day and the way their skills touch the lives of patients.

Firefighting is an inevitable part of the job, but we do try to make the most of good news opportunities as well. Sadly, it is not easy to convince media there is a story worth pursuing in ‘man gets excellent quality care at local hospital’, even when patients are happy to speak up.

By publicly thanking the staff who have cared for him, and broadcasting his positive experiences, he can help us in our efforts to make sure the NHS get the credit it deserves.
