DoH plans contraceptives campaign

The Department of Health has allocated £7million to launch a new campaign to raise awareness of the different contraceptive options available to teenagers.

‘Contraceptive choices' will run over the summer as both an advertising and PR campaign.

It will help to raise awareness of the different options such as Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARCs) including injections and implants.

This forms part of a £20.5 million investment to help young people get better access to contraception, announced yesterday by public health minister Dawn Primarolo.

A PR agency may be appointed to support this campaign.
