- Freud Communications boss Matthew Freud has taken a 3.3 per cent stake in marketing services agency M&C Saatchi. His investment is said to be in a personal capacity, not on behalf of the agency.

- The Hansard Society and Microsoft has found that MPs are using the internet to inform constituents rather than engage with them. A new report says 23 per cent use social networking tools and 11 per cent are bloggers.

- Brunswick has won a financial comms brief with FTSE 100 power station firm Drax Group. Tulchan was the incumbent.

- Sportech has put its consumer account for The New Football Pools out to pitch. Incumbent Resonate declined to pitch.

- Rio Ferdinand has turned to Clifford French, a sports and entertainment agency, to promote his new digital lifestyle magazine, called #5. The footballer's magazine launches next month.

- Shine Comms has beaten three advertising agencies to a brief with Wembley Stadium Tours.

- MS&L has brought in Fleishman-Hillard director and partner Louisa Clarke (nee Jenkins) as client services director for Procter & Gamble EMEA.

- T4, Channel 4's youth programming zone, has handed its press and publicity account to Bite Communications.
