- The Central Office of Information (COI) has appointed Advertising Association chairman Mark Lund as its new chief executive. Lund, who is also CEO of Delaney Lund Knox Warren, will succeed Alan Bishop, who left the COI in January.

- Jon Bunn, director of group media relations at Prudential, is to leave the firm due to a restructuring of its comms team. Bunn's is the only comms position affected and he will remain at the firm for three months.

- House of Fraser has announced it is making a 'small number' of redundancies in its regional PR and marketing teams.

- DHL Express has held a pitch for consumer and corporate PR support. Red, Cohn & Wolfe, Lexis and incumbent Hill & Knowlton are all in line for the work.

- Hudson PR has been hired by composer AR Rahman to raise his profile in the UK. Rahman recently won a Bafta for his work in hit film Slumdog Millionaire.

- Four Communications has been appointed to provide PR support for the UK's first National Family Week.

- Norfolkline, the Maersk-owned cross-channel ferry company, has put out a brief for consumer PR support.

- Arla Foods is understood to be holding a four-way pitch for the consumer PR account for its Anchor butter range.
