At a 'New media, new politics?' lunch discussion hosted by Apex Communications this week, Draper recalled when he was in California, training to be a psychotherapist. 'A colleague over there said to me: "I've been googling a few people and you want to be careful as there's another Derek Draper in England and he's a complete twat!" - I said: "Yeah, I've heard of him"'...

Perhaps the most talked about PR professional in the media this week is Jim Van den Bos of Wealden District Council press office. Noel Edmonds launched into a red-cheeked spit-flying tirade against hapless Van den Bos on his Sky show, stating that the PRO is 'at the heart of everything that is wrong with this country'. His crime? Van den Bos 'sneered' when producers invited the council onto the show. Let this be a warning PR people - sneer at Edmonds and suffer!
