Editors lined up for event

Channel Four's head of news Dorothy Byrne and the editor of thelondonpaper Stefano Hatfield are among key speakers at PRWeek's upcoming 'PR and the Media' conference.

Byrne and Hatfield will discuss the changing patterns of media consumption and the best way to reach specific audiences.

Assistant news editor of The Times Greg Hurst will explain what journalists look for in a story.

Meanwhile Oxfam’s head of media Sam Barrett has agreed to hold a session on engaging social network users, and Visit Britain’s global PR manager Tess Sullivan will give advice on connecting with bloggers while protecting your brand.

The Guardian’s head of editorial development Neil Mc­Intosh and the head of news for 100.7 Heart FM John Collins are on a panel that will discuss future media and economic trends. Westminster City Council’s director of comms Alex Aiken will show how to prove PR pays.

The conference takes place on Thursday 26 February at The Hurlingham Club in London. A limited number of tickets are still available at www.prandthemedia.com.
