Race is on for Fresh gongs

NHS Lothian and Manchester-based agencies Fido PR and Brazen are in pole position to pick up new awards for communications excellence in the regions.

The Fresh PR awards aim to highlight excellence in the communications industry outside of London.

Fresh already organises awards for the creative, media and digital sectors, but this year marks the first time the awards have recognised the PR industry.

Newcastle City Council, Stockport Metropolitan Borough and Trimedia PR have also been nominated for a number of awards.

The winners of the awards are due to be announced on 5 March in a ceremony to be held in Manchester.

The awards panel was chaired by Borkowski founder Mark Borkowski. The judges also include Trimedia MD Loretta Tobin, Cirkle director Caroline Kinsey and Midnight boss Caraline Brown.

The awards attracted more than 200 entries, with agencies and in-house PR teams competing to win gongs in categories including Freshest Green PR and Freshest Use of a Celebrity.
