From our Readers - We have the chance to make a difference

Looking at the front page of PRWeek, I might be tempted to exchange the word 'banking' for 'PR industry lashes out at negative media coverage'.

All these redundancy and doom and gloom features aren't doing us any favours. As of this week our economy is officially in recession, so it is not news.

The huge difference between this and previous recessions is communications. The internet, mobile phones and the digital network ensure communications are rapid and widespread, accessible to everyone. To be at the heart of the communications industry gives us the chance to act with immediacy and effectiveness. Let's capitalise on this.
