Flack: Merry Crunchmas, Cuban Brothers and Buckingham Palace

Merry Crunchmas, one and all! With tumbleweeds blowing over Flack's normally packed party calendar, we notice that even Piers Pottinger has modified his usual all-white Christmas cards to include a small, blue teardrop...

So we decided to mull over more carefree times of Christmas past and noticed this week's feature on office party embarrassments in thelondonpaper. The piece included a comment from a certain PR exec, Amy Hutchings. She recalled once getting so drunk that she invited The Cuban Brothers to 'sing to my bum'. Possibly the same Hutchings who, as an eager account exec at PR agency Banc, told PRWeek in 2006: 'Having the chance to share experiences with people in the same position is invaluable.' Now that's what we call networking...

It is clearly not the season of goodwill towards Fishburn Hedges, dubbed 'cack-handed' by The Daily Telegraph's Alex Singleton on 5 December. The unforgiving hack claimed the agency had antagonised Telegraph readers with a letter defending client TV Licensing that was 'the PR equivalent of spraying fire with paraffin'...

3 Monkeys has had a regal end to the year. It visited Buckingham Palace to meet HRH Prince Philip, who thanked the agency for its campaign to raise £1.5m for Help for Heroes. 'When he realised we were in PR, he practically ran away,' sighed consultancy head Ali Gee.
