The firm has hired the agency to deliver PR support for Thorntons at peak trading periods – from Valentine’s to Easter, Halloween to Christmas.
Salt will also run the contracted-out Thorntons press office.
The account will be led by board director Sam Knowles, with Natasha Earl as account director and Lucy Hannacher managing. They will report to Thorntons head of brand Stuart Renshaw.
The agency will work alongside the brand’s ad agency, Mother, and will undertake special projects to help take Thorntons further into the ‘sharing market’.
Thorntons has 379 own stores and 250 franchise stores across the country.
Thorntons continues to work with the Cardew Group on its corporate and financial work.
