From our readers - Dispatches gave BA early right to reply

Paul Marston's statement, (Media, 26 November) that British Airways was approached at a late stage for a response to allegations is incorrect.

As with all Dispatches, in compliance with the Ofcom code and our own extremely stringent rules on gathering right to replies, BA was provided with a detailed list of questions three weeks before transmission.

We invited BA chief executive Willie Walsh to take part with the clear intention that his interview would fairly reflect the company's position on the matters raised - we encourage chief executives to appear on Dispatches.

As for Marston's claims that it was clear the programme was going to be 'a hatchet job', this statement is both ridiculous and outrageous. Dispatches has a duty to treat all subjects fairly and to ensure balance in programmes.
