GotYourPriceCheck works similarly to price comparison websites, but it allows people to compare prices for electrical products and gadgets on their mobile phones.
Shoppers text the details of a product and their postcode to 60706 and then receive a text with the price of the product at different retailers in their area. The PR campaign will highlight its advantages over searching online for deals because it includes small independent shops, as well as high street brands.
Clarion will be launching GotYourPriceCheck in the South East in December, with a nation-wide roll-out set for early 2009. The agency will target technology and shopping bloggers with a celebrity-fronted campaign. The PR efforts will be supported by above the line advertising on Kiss FM.
