Ross spoke with Farrow, his former manager, after he found himself under intense media glare, senior entertainment sources have said.

One industry insider said Farrow would have advised Ross ‘to keep his head down, stay indoors and not be photographed smiling’.

Ross is currently suspended from the BBC for leaving lewd messages, with Russell Brand, on actor Andrew Sachs’ voicemail during a radio show.

Farrow would not comment when contacted by PRWeek.

Historically, Ross has only used adhoc freelance PR support and his management firm Off the Kerb to handle media relations.
Other key PR players in the 'Sachsgate' affair, are MBC PR’s CEO Barbara Charone, who is handling media for Russell Brand and Max Clifford, who is representing Sach's granddaughter Georgina Baillie. The phone messages left on Sach's phone said that Brand had slept with Baillie.

Brand and the well respected Radio 2 controller Lesley Douglas both resigned over the affair.
Farrow’s clients include Elton John, Sharon Osborne and Gordon Ramsay.
