NFL seeks web agency

The National Football League (NFL) is on the hunt for a digital agency to harness public interest after last weekend's game.

NFL teams New Orleans and San Diego played a game at Wembley last Sunday - the second annual match to be held in the UK. But the body is keen to expand the sport into the UK and is considering eventually basing a permanent team in London.

The chosen agency will be charged with promoting, a site launched last week that aims to demystify the game as well as offering an interactive experience.

'We are looking at the possibility of using an additional PR agency that specialises in the online world,' said NFL International's director of public affairs David Tossell. He is leading the search and hopes to have an agency in place as quickly as possible.

Last year, Tossell said, there was no way of maintaining buzz around the sport post-match. The new site aims to offer a place for people to learn about the game and keep up their interest.

The NFL uses Synergy and Brunswick on a retained basis.
