Caroline Weber will join the organisation as executive director of communications and public affairs. She had previously worked at Sport England as public affairs managing before joining McDonald's in 2002 where she was most recently senior director, communications and government relations.
Weber was involved in a variety of sporting programmes at the fast food giant, including promoting partnerships with the four national football associations. Sport England has pledged to get one million more people regularly participating in sport by 2012/13.
Her departure sees Julian Hilton-Johnson taking on more responsibility in his role of VP of corporate affairs. His expanded role will now include heading-up all external media relations, government relations, internal communications and HR throughout Europe.
Hilton-Johnson will also serve as chief of staff to the European President, Denis Hennequin. He joined the UK arm of the Company in 1999 and was appointed VP of Corporate Affairs in 2001.
