ScotRail calls in Pagoda PR

Scotland's main train operator has called in public affairs support as the country's rail system is hit by strike action.

First ScotRail has handed the brief to Pagoda PR. The agency said it would be 'supporting the company to develop open relationships with its political stakeholders through a targeted plan of public affairs activity'.

As PRWeek went to press, the Rail Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) was due to press ahead with two 24-hour strikes this week. The row is said to be over roster agreements. First ScotRail hopes to run as many trains as possible.

'Rail travel will play an important role in tackling the climate change agenda,' said Pagoda MD Ian Coldwell.
