National House-Building Council hires Mandate

The National House-Building Council (NHBC) has turned to Mandate Communications for a high-end five figure brief following a four-way competitive pitch.

NHBC represents around 20,500 house builders and developers. The council sets standards for new homes in the UK and provides warranty and insurance services.

McCann Erickson's public relations arm previously handled PR for the council on a retained basis.

Mandate has been called in to raise the profile of NHBC, manage customer communications and campaign to raise standards.

In 2001 Mandate won the public affairs account with NHBC. John Williams, associate director at Mandate, will lead both the PR and public affairs account.
