GPlus Europe has hired a long-serving top German civil servant as partner. Peter Witt was Germany's deputy permanent representative to the EU for the past seven years. He has represented Germany on policies ranging from emissions trading and energy liberalisation to telecommunications and consumer protection. 'He has an outstanding reputation in Brussels and Berlin as one of the foremost experts in EU affairs,' said GPlus senior partner Peter Guilford.

Weber Shandwick has unveiled a detailed guide to Conservative Party policy. The guide, released this week, outlines the party's policies in 11 key areas.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) is to establish a policy consulting service to help it advise overseas governments. It is calling for individuals or organisations wishing to become 'international policy consulting partners'.

Good Relations is helping set up a trade body that will represent the UK's five biggest players in the retirement village sector. The Association of Retirement Village Operators UK will promote the industry to the public and to decision-makers in Westminster and Whitehall.
