Bright Young Things, a public and voluntary sector specialist, has hired Lexis PR account director Louisa Stoddard as associate director, client services.

Survival International, a charity for tribal people, has created a CD with Bruce Parry, star of the BBC series Tribe, featuring KT Tunstall and Hot Chip. Sainted PR and the in-house team are handling coverage.

The British Heart Foundation's walks and hikes series from September 2008 until December 2009 is being sponsored by Ordnance Survey. It wants to encourage people to walk more and improve their navigational skills.

The Prostate Cancer Charity is extending its annual awareness week, with the inaugural month-long event to be held in March 2009, in order to make a bigger impact.

NSPCC has launched a campaign to raise £50m for its helpline services. It will contact national press and broadcasters, and a Saatchi & Saatchi advertising campaign is being run this week and next.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is asking companies to back its Muscle Awareness Week from 20 to 27 September by running fundraising and awareness events for their staff.
