Postman Pat gets promoted

The new series of Postman Pat, which sees the cartoon character promoted to 'head of special delivery', is to be publicised by the Launch Group.

The agency has been briefed by entertainment media company Entertainment Rights to 'transport Postman Pat into the 21st century'.

The new TV series, which kicks off on 29 September, has a fleet of new vehicles – including a helicopter, a new 'bustling' town setting and an expanded cast, which includes a wheelchair user, a working mum and a Chinese shopkeeper.

The Launch Group will target print, broadcast and online media. It is also planning a stunt to deliver national exposure.

The five-month account was won without pitch. It is believed to be worth six figures.
