The agency has been charged with raising the firm's profile throughout European markets including the UK and the Netherlands. As part of the brief, Bell Pottinger will seek to gain coverage for the views of W.P. Carey executives in the financial media.
‘We will be helping to communicate their business strategy, offer international deal support and raise the profile of the key European management team,' said Charles Cook, deputy chairman of the agency's corporate and financial practice.
W.P. Carey specialises in investing equity capital in property sale and leasebacks in the US and across Europe and Asia. It currently has over $10bn assets under management and is looking to expand globally. Europe is the company's fasted growing region where they are investing at a rate of approximately €500m per year.
The firm recently opened an office in Amsterdam and appointed Tom Quigley as managing director of W. P. Carey & Co. Limited, its UK subsidiary.
