The British Association of Communicators in Business (CiB) and Xchangeteam surveyed 178 senior comms professionals in June 2008.

51 per cent of responses came from employees with over six years’ in-house communications experience and 28 per cent from employees with over ten years’ experience.

They found 36 per cent planned to move jobs within the PR industry. The survey also found that 86 per cent of internal communications staff have received a pay increase within the last twelve months.

In 2007, labour turnover stood at just 18 per cent across all sectors, with only a small decrease to 17 per cent so far in 2008, according to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
