1. New York has the Manhattan, Singapore has the Sling... and now, Manchester has its very own cocktail, the Manchester Brambler, courtesy of Ethos public relations. The agency held a competition with clients and journalists to celebrate its tenth anniversary.

2. The time sponsored by Accurist is... fleeting. The British watchmaker is to end its 22-year sponsorship of BT's Speaking Clock. Instead it has brought in the PR Office to launch an online version where members of the public tell the time.

3. Project Beard Monkey has kicked off at Geronimo Communications. The males are growing beards this month for charity Tribal Foundation, while the females are stumping up sponsorship. Spare a thought for head of events Russell Joyce, who can't take part because he is in the Territorial Army.
