Bauer loses comms boss

Publishing giant Random House has hired a media PR specialist as its new group comms director.

Maureen Corish joins The Random House Group on 1 October. She will lead digital plans, corporate affairs and corporate responsibility initiatives.

Corish is currently comms director at Bauer Media, previously Emap, where she oversees corporate and consumer PR and internal comms.

Before joining Bauer, Corish worked in BBC’s entertainment publicity team.

She replaces Rachael Sansom, who has moved to an undisclosed agency role. Corish will report to Gail Rebuck, Random House Group’s chairman and chief executive.

Random House has also appointed Van Communications to promote two new books by Andy McNab.
