Rachel O’Reilly Communications is to launch next month, specialising in the travel sector. The agency has already signed up independent UK charity The Travel Foundation, which aims to help the outbound travel
industry manage tourism more sustainably.
O’Reilly joined Siren in 2006 as a director to build its travel-brand portfolio (PRWeek, 28 September 2006).
She had previously been working at TUI Thomson for six years and left her post as head of comms to join the agency in 2006. She had also previously worked at travel PR agency BGB before joining Thomson.
‘There are various challenges facing the travel industry including fuel hikes, higher household bills and an uncertain job market, which means an overseas holiday is a big expense,’ said O’Reilly. ‘But there are tons of clever ways to save money when booking a holiday and getting those messages over to consumers right now is crucial.’
Separately, travel PR specialist The Brighter Group has signed up two upmarket lifestyle brands in a concerted effort to expand its client base.
It has won Chic Outlet Shopping, a collection of nine luxury shopping villages in Europe, and upmarket kitchenware brand Cucina.
