What’s it good for?
The Chop House, situated on the banks of the River Thames with stunning views of Tower Bridge, is the ideal meeting place for working lunches. The restaurant has a terrace to enjoy the famous London views in summer and a beautiful restaurant with comfortable seating, relaxed atmosphere and oak-lined walls. The restaurant is a food lover’s haven, offering hearty British food to suit all tastes.
The menu includes British classics such as fish and chips, as well as more unusual dishes such as shellfish in tankards, which reverts back to an old East End tradition of serving prawns, mussels, cockles and whelks in old-fashioned beer mugs. It’s a dining experience rather than just a place to eat.
Who’s the boss?
The restaurant is run by Melissa Schmidt and the kitchen by head chef Sylvain Le Geud. The waiting staff are well mannered, attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes on offer.
It is very popular, so book in advance. Ask for a window seat or a terrace seat on a sunny day to make the most of the views.
