Spink was awarded the account without a pitch due to its previous work for sister brands LitoZin and Feminee.
Natural health product manufacturer GR Lanes has called on Spink to launch NicoBloc next month. The new non-prescription treatment can be applied to the filter of their cigarette to block up to 99 per cent of tar and nicotine. The product aims to help smokers gradually wean themselves off their need for nicotine.
The agency will position the brand as a new opportunity for smokers who have tried to quit but failed with existing methods. The two-stage PR programme will include getting consumer buy-in and building relationships with the NHS.
Spink director Jo Spink said: 'NicoBloc's launch will introduce a new category into the marketplace, as a drug and side effect-free alternative to the licensed NRTs currently on offer.'
