Voluntary Sector: The Week in Charities

CANCER RESEARCH UK has promoted Jane Warden to PR manager. Warden was previously PR officer at the charity and before that an account manager at Bell Pottinger. She will manage a team of three, responsible for publicising the charity's national and community events.

THE ENVIRONMENT TRUST FOR RICHMOND UPON THAMES is on the hunt for pro bono support for its latest project. The charity, with patrons David Attenborough and Bamber Gascoigne, is looking for an agency to secure public support and additional funding for its project to develop a community river centre in Twickenham.

THE INSTITUTE OF FUNDRAISING's chair, Joe Saxton, is to head up a campaign to reduce charity fees on text message donations. He will put together a coalition of support, research the issue and will start discussions with mobile providers and regulators towards the end of the year.

TREEHOUSE, the autism charity, and SAVE THE CHILDREN are joining forces on 11 July in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest game of Chinese whispers at Arsenal Football Club's Emirates Stadium. Limelight PR is working with the in-house press teams to reach the national, local and marketing media.
