Soya Mills uses Cubitt

A Greek food giant has sought agency advice as it looks to capitalise on soaring global food prices by listing on London's AIM market.

Soya Mills, which processes raw materials such as soya beans to make a range of products, has turned to Cubitt Consulting for the brief.

'AIM listings are down by two-thirds on last year,' said Cubitt founder Simon Brocklebank-Fowler. 'But there is some activity in areas such as clean tech, and many agencies are fighting for that business.'

Cubitt won the brief after a five-way pitch. Brocklebank-Fowler said Soya Mills had some exposure to interest in clean technology through a biofuel business.

Cubitt will handle website communication and investor relations. The account could spread to the agency's New York office, Cubitt, Jacobs & Prosek.

Soya Mills sells its products in Greece, the Balkans and the Middle East, and also trades in grains such as wheat and corn. It owns the largest private port in Greece.
