BMJ asks for topical angles

THE PHARMACEUTICAL MARKETING SOCIETY has appointed a new chairman. SC Marketing director Steve Clark will take over from Huntsworth Health chief executive Sandy Royden.

THE BMJ has urged PROs to 'think outside the box'. Features editor Deborah Cohen was speaking at a Meet the Media event last week, in association with PRWeek and PR Newswire. She said selling in topical angles would help ensure coverage.

LIDCO GROUP, the cardiovascular monitoring company, has brought in City PR firm Abchurch Communications to handle its financial communications activity. The agency has also been taken on by Curidium Medica, a leading developer of medicines for central nervous system disorders.

THE SCOTT PARTNERSHIP has been selected by Exco InTouch, which supplies pharma firms with patient comms techniques using SMS, to handle its PR activity.

DDM COMMUNICATIONS, a healthcare comms recruitment consultancy, has been launched by former industry researcher Dominic McGivern.
