Ptarmigan to cut staff

A Leeds-based agency is set to make an unspecified number of redundancies across its business. The move by Ptarmigan PR will spark fears that the economic downturn is finally hitting the PR industry.

Ptarmigan MD Tina Elliott confirmed the 50-strong agency had started the redundancy process, but she would not confirm how many staff would be affected or reveal the reasons behind the move. The agency is initially calling for voluntary redundancies.

Ptarmigan still holds the regional consumer PR account for Virgin Media.

Elliott only came on board as MD earlier this year.
