Baxters appoints Nexus PR

Baxters Food Group has appointed Nexus PR to deliver a consumer PR programme for its core Baxters brand.

Nexus replaces Scottish agency 3x1 Public Relations, who it worked with for the past 16 months on corporate, trade and consumer PR. It is not yet decided who will handle corporate and trade PR.

Baxters marketing director Kerr Arthur says: ‘We have a very specific set of objectives that we want to achieve through public relations over the next year. Having looked at a number of agencies we felt that Nexus was best placed to help us with that.’

Nexus director Jon Meakin will lead a team of four on the account.

Baxters recently revealed profits of £6.7m and said it might buy another foreign company following its recent takeover of CanGro Soups in Canada.
