Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Insight Public Affairs has appointed former Tory aide Simon Hill as a senior consultant. Hill started work with the agency this week, having previously worked as chief of staff for shadow health minister Anne Milton. Before that, he was a media spokesman for the British Army during the Iraq War.

Invicta, the Scottish public affairs outfit, has landed a brief with pub and restaurant firm Whitbread. The agency also recently hired Steven Park from the Food and Drink Federation, where he was a public affairs adviser specialising in the seafood industry.

APCO Worldwide has appointed Jonathan Winer as senior vice president. Winer was formerly US deputy assistant secretary of state for international law enforcement and chief counsel to Senator John Kerry.

Positif Politics has signed up Huw Evans as a consultant. He joins the Welsh agency from renewables company Gamesa, where he was PR manager. Evans has also worked as communications manager for Shelter Cymru.

The Policy Partnership is changing its name. The public affairs agency will be known as Gardant Communications from next week.
