PRESS James Hall has been promoted to news editor at The Sunday Telegraph. Home affairs correspondent Ben Leapman has taken over Hall's previous role as deputy news editor. Reporter Jasper Copping has been promoted to night news editor and Fiona Matthias has been promoted to executive editor (news).

The Independent has promoted Oli Duff to deputy home news editor and Henry Deedes replaces him as editor of Pandora. News editor Julian Coman has moved to The Observer, replacing Tracy McVeigh as foreign editor.

The Financial Times' European technology correspondent Maija Palmer has left on maternity leave. Alec Russell has been appointed world news editor and David Pilling has been promoted to Asia editor. South Asia bureau chief Jo Johnson is returning to London as Lex editor.

Bloomberg News reporter Robin Stringer has moved from the London bureau to New York, where he will cover general and international news stories.

Haymarket industry title Marketing has promoted Ed Kemp from reporter to news editor, to replace Gareth Jones who is now editor at sister publication Revolution.

Douwe Miedema has relocated to London from Zurich and is now head of Reuters' corporate finance team.

Freelancer Judith Wilkinson has started as shopping editor at Mother & Baby and Pregnancy & Birth magazines.

International Homes has hired Ben Bouckley as deputy editor. He replaces Michael Gunn, who left the magazine to go travelling but continues to freelance.

Rhoda Parry has returned to her role as editor of Country Homes & Interiors following her maternity leave.

Publisher Agra Informa has hired Robert Selby as assistant editor of three food and drinks titles: Eurofood, Dairy Markets and World Drinks Report.

Bauer's consumer monthly Today's Golfer is relaunching to include more practical features and golfing instruction. The editor in chief is Andy Calton.

In Style fashion assistant Lucy Walker has moved to Glamour as fashion assistant.


ITV News has named former LBC radio host Daisy McAndrew as economics editor on her return from maternity leave this month. She was ITV News' chief political correspondent.


Scottish titles The Herald and the Sunday Herald will launch a joint website later this year. The Evening Times will keep its own separate website, but content will be provided by journalists working for all three. David Milne, the Sunday Herald's deputy editor, will be the new online editor.

Freelancer Javier Espinoza has joined as a reporter in London. Espinoza has worked for The Observer and The Irish Times among other titles.

Scotland on Sunday business and wine correspondent Will Lyons has started a weekly wine blog for the newspaper's website,
