Hannick named Land Registry head of public affairs

The Land Registry has appointed a new head of public affairs.

Paul Hannick joins the government body responsible for registering titles to land in England and Wales on 1 July. He is currently a senior PRO at Revenue & Customs.

Hannick replaces Mick Lewis, who is retiring. In the new role, he will be working to enhance the Land Registry's reputation in Westminster and Whitehall.

The Land Registry aims to maintain and develop a stable and effective land registration system throughout England and Wales, to guarantee title to registered estates and interests in land for the whole of England and Wales, and to provide access to up-to-date and guaranteed land information.

The registry, which has world's largest property database, guarantees ownership of many billions of pounds worth of property.

A key issue at present is bringing all of its services online.
